I am a mixed media artist working across collage, print-making and painting. I work individually and as part of Create/Disrupt collective at the NewBridge Project (Newcastle, UK).
Fragmentation is a common theme in my work, which I apply as a commentary on socio-political and socio-environmental phenomena. I am interested in human/environmental relationships, multispecies perspectives, sociology of food, body politics, as well as issues around identity.
I use appropriated images, found materials and textures to make collage, decollage and photomontage, both in digital and analogue mediums. Interested in ambiguity and abstraction offered by collage, I reconnect 'the imaginary' and 'the real', creating metaphorical commentaries on the themes that interest me.
I also experiment with a variety of print-making techniques, including screen printing and monotype. Occasionally I combine collage and print-making to produce new work, diverting images from their original context to recreate a new reality freed from all conventions.
